KINGSTON CREATIVE MURALS

 

Artist Errol Reid has painted a new mural on Beat Street. Funded by the Tourism Enhancement Fund, the mural depicts Studio One musicians such as the Skatalites, Jackie Mittoo, Cedric Brooks, Richard Ace, Lennie Hibbert, Ernest Ranglin, Winston Grennan and Tom of “Tom the Great” Sebastian Sound System. 

Kingston Creative Director Doris Gross and artists from Denham Town and Trench Town also recently painted a mural in honour of renowned Rastafarian elder and drummer Mortimo Planno on Collie Smith Drive in Trench Town.

The Windrush generation is in vogue again. Now a walkway on the Tilbury Bridge that they used on arrival in the UK, has been turned into an art installation to honour them.
