Jamaican-born Brooklyn artist Michael Escoffery is being featured in the annual Harlem Fine Arts Show. An award-winning painter, Escoffery’s work focusses primarily on women. He grew up with and was influenced by the strength of women like his three sisters, mother and grandmother. While many of his pieces are sold mainly in Brooklyn, his work has been seen on the walls of Congress and US embassies in more than 40 countries. The Harlem Fine Arts Show runs Feb. 13-16 at Riverside Church in Manhattan.
The Windrush generation is in vogue again. Now a walkway on the Tilbury Bridge that they used on arrival in the UK, has been turned into an art installation to honour them.
