LATE PHOTOGRAPHER SANDRA GEORGE'S WORK ON SHOW IN SCOTLAND

The Glasgow School of Art Exhibition in Scotland will present the work of the late photographer Sandra George until June 30th. Born to Jamaican parents,  George spent the first seven years of her life here before migrating to Birmingham. Later she went to Edinburgh to live with her father.

George specialized in portraits of life but never exhibited her work. She photographed marginalized communities across Scotland between the 1980s and 2000s. Her son Tyler Hewitt says he hopes her work will inspire others. “This work betters our world and all our lives,” says Hewitt. George earned BAs at Napier University in Scotland George (photography) and at Edinburgh College of Art (drawing and painting).
