JAMAICAN FILM-MAKER GOES TO INDONESIA

Creative agency ESIROM has awarded Jamaican film-maker Danielle Russell the Sama-Sama Fellowship for a short residency in Indonesia. ESIROM (Encouraging Social Influence; Redefining Online Marketing) gives the award to young Jamaican artists from the literary arts, the visual arts and the fields of music, new media and dance so they can expand their experiences. Awardees are selected based on their artistic performance, creative work-plan for the study visit, expected output and proposed contribution to Jamaican art on return. Russell’s film This City Of Mine (2017) took part in the JAFTA (Jamaica Film and Television Association) film block during her trip.
