Tomorrow is Jamaica Day 2020 with the theme: ‘Celebrating Jamaica…highlighting our Icons in the Arts, Agriculture and Technological Innovations.’ In honour of the day, schools are being asked to select an icon or icons to be the focus of the day. The Jamaica Day Planning Committee and Fontana Pharmacy are staging a creative arts competition, inviting schools to create a two to three-minute video showcasing the life and work of the icon or icons they choose. The videos will be uploaded to Fontana Pharmacy’s social media platforms. Schools, and the wider public, will have a chance to vote for their favourite. A panel of judges will determine the first, second and third place winners. Awards will range from trophies to laptops, projectors and cash prizes.
