Teachers' Seminar: Art Exhibitions as a Resource Tool

On Saturday October 21, 2023, the National Gallery of Jamaica will resume its annual Teachers’ Seminar series, from 9:30 am to 1:30 pm. Registration is free of cost. This year’s theme will be Art Exhibitions as a Resource Tool.

This event aims to include creating opportunities for these educators to learn how to make use of the informational resources of art museums and galleries to enrich the development and delivery of lessons. Some of these resources include the displayed art collections, the archival and publication collection, and the professional expertise of the NGJ Education Department.

The seminar will cover the steps related to the consultative process and how it gives insight into the selection of tours best suited to the specific needs of the group. Also addressed is the designing of lessons and practicums based on the museum space in relation to the needs of the student cohort.

Interested persons are encouraged to register using the link or register at the front desk by 9:30 a.m., on the seminar day.
