Jamaican artist Renee Cox is featured in a group show, The Pleasure Principle, at Maccarone Gallery in LA that runs till November 23rd. The show focuses on visionaries who have taken a stand against respectability politics, pushing the limits of imagery one might expect to find in an art gallery with pieces like Renee's Garter Belt (2001) and Five Polaroid Spectra (2001).
This year, the National Gallery of Jamaica will present the Dawn Scott Award to a participating artist in its Summer Exhibition 2019, which runs from July 28 to October 27, 2019.
