NATIONAL GALLERY WRITING WORKSHOP TO HELP CSEC STUDENTS

 

The National Gallery of Jamaica will host a five-day Writivity workshop from August 12th to 16th  to help students sitting the Visual Arts CSEC exams with their reflective journals. The reflective journal is a part of the School-Based Assessment and the final grades of the CSEC exam.

The workshop will engage students in practical and theoretical exercises. The Gallery will provide them with research materials and give them a deeper understanding of how to view, analyze, and apply research methodologies to art.

Representatives from the Ministry of Education will help students understand the requirements of their reflective journals and the marking scheme of the Caribbean Examination Council (CXC).

The registration fee is $500 and includes lunch.  All lessons and activities will be held at the Gallery at 12 Ocean Boulevard, Kingston Mall in downtown Kingston.

A 97 year old Jamaican is featured in Migrant Stories, an exhibition at the Market Gallery in Toronto, Canada. Lloyd Lindo, who left Jamaica with other migrants to help rebuild England after World War II, later made his home in Canada. He now lives lives in Amaranth, Dufferin County, Ontario
